One of the most important projects to date stems from the Club's strong interest in the education of high schoool seniors, living on Marco Island, looking to attend college. On January 28 1988 with a generous donation from Club member Signe Gleich, the irrevocable trust fund, known as the "Marco Island Woman's Club Foundation", was formed. In 2011, another former member of MIWC left a sizeable donation and the first Verne Cabooris Scholarship of $12,000 was awarded. The foundation receives subscriptions and gifts from donors to be used for educational purposes. This trust fund is managed by a Trustee, a banking corporation.
Each year a significant portion of the Club's net fundraising proceeds goes to the Foundation. This amount is approved each year by the Board of Directors.
